Genomics is the study of all the genomes, the genes of a cell or tissue at the DNA, mRNA or protein level. A genome is the sum total of all the individual organism's genes, including genotype, transcriptome and proteome. It is a scientific field that is considered at the cutting-edge of technology and has the possibility of revolutionizing medicine.

Stem Cell is a cell found in multi-cellular organisms. Stem Cells have the ability to renew themselves through mitotic cell division and differentiating into a diverse range of specialized cell types. The stem cell has the DNA that is mapped through genomics. Human stem cells have two broad categories, embryonic stem cells that are isolated from the inner cell mass of blastocysts, and adult stem cells that are found in all adult tissue.

Stem cells can be harvested and transformed into specialized cells with characteristics consistent of cells found in various tissues, such as muscles or nerves. This is done through a cell culture. The medical field is counting on these cells as a way to increase human longevity and to relieve or eradicate certain medical conditions.
